Principal
Roles and Responsibilities
|
|
|
Summary
of responsibilities Reporting to the
President, with a direct line to the General Manager, the Quality Control Director manages the Company’s
quality control program in accordance with customer and company requirements.
The incumbent is also responsible for providing support to all operational
directors and managers. Specific
responsibilities ·
Establishes procedures
for maintaining very high quality, reliability, and safety standards; ·
Determines and enforces -
through functional groups – quality and safety requirements in accordance
with real company needs, based on current regulations and state-of-the-art
product development; ·
Organizes and promotes
company wide quality improvement efforts; ·
Evaluates and develops
improved techniques for quality, reliability and safety control; ·
Implements and maintains
the company quality system, reporting on the quality system for review and as
a basis for improving it; ·
Acts as liaison with
external parties on matters relating to the quality system; ·
Acts as liaison with
external parties on matters relating to “on-site audit of suppliers’
facility and quality systems.” |

Education, Experience, Aptitude
|
|
|
Education: ·
Bachelor in Food Sciences
or other relevant educational background (additional management courses would
be considered an asset) Professional
Experience and Competencies: ·
5 to 10 years’ experience
fulfilling similar functions (quality management, quality engineering); ·
3 to 5 years’ personnel
management experience; ·
Experience in the food
and/or pharmaceutical industry is mandatory; ·
Experience in process
re-engineering in a fast-paced environment; ·
Experience managing budgets; ·
Exceptional proficiency
with Microsoft applications; ·
Knowledge of food
industry hygiene and safety rules; ·
Knowledge of quality
management systems, such as: ISO, HACCP, BPM, CIP (cleaning-in-place), and nutritional
analysis. Knowledge and
skills: ·
Strong leadership skills; ·
Excellent communication
and interpersonal skills: very people-oriented ·
Very customer-service and
excellence-oriented; ·

organizational abilities; ·
