Suggestions and Commitments
for the Growth of the Section
Participants to the May 16 event took the opportunity to actively
contribute to the efforts initiated by our section to generate more
awareness and support to the section, the employers of our members and
the community at large. We hope to get our members, their organizations
and other sponsors to strengthen the section and the recognition its
members get. We have discussed several tools to achieve this, including
increasing the number of members, the financial resources available for
generating attractive events, and improving communications and sharing
of knowledge on quality related subjects. Section executives
facilitated the discussion and collection of comments and suggestions
at individual tables May 16. A special energy was generated in the room
as people suggested and wrote down specific activities and even
personal commitments. The section executive took in account many of the
suggestions and incorporated them in the program for the next season of
activities. We also intend to repeat this type of interaction with
event participants at future events, while experimenting with different
formats. Here is a summary of the inputs collected at the meeting. Some
of them are anonymous. My apologies to those whose names I incorrectly
reproduced. Time for this activity was short. If you had great ideas,
please contact us to expand the conversation on what you had in mind.
If this triggers new ideas on how to strengthen the section, please do
not hesitate to contact us.
