Livio
Di Francesco has worked in Finance and Accounting for over 22 years and
has extensive experience in large scale manufacturing ERP/MRP systems,
Costing, Budgeting and Management Reporting.
He has held various
management and senior management positions with Burroughs Wellcome, De
Havilland Aeronautical, Tyco Fire and Suppression Systems, Siemens and
for the past 6 years with Valeant Canada Pharmaceuticals Inc. Livio
holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Concordia University, and is a
member of the Ordre of Certified Management Accountants of Quebec.

Welcome back
Once again,
we have a strong and dynamic leadership team this year. There
are fourteen men and women giving time for our
section so we can meet, network, learn and celebrate.
And we will have a very good reason to
celebrate, because in 2010 our Montreal Section 0401 will be 60 years
old! Don’t
miss our special activity in January to
start this anniversary year on a high note. In the mean time, we have a
lot of
good events planed, beginning by the one next week about financial
tools. Check our

Word from your Section Chair

I would
like to welcome our loyal members, new members and their guests to
another promising season of networking and learning through our monthly
events.
We had a great season last year and the section 401 is aiming for the
same this year.
Based on your valuable inputs shared with the 401 by participating in
our Customer Survey our Program Chair has put an exiting and
interesting series of events for this season.
For guests that are thinking of coming to most events I encourage you
to join ASQ now and take advantage of the benefits that come from being
a member from the beginning of this season.
In addition to the great networking opportunities with industry
professionals you will get a chance to discuss amongst many other
Quality topics as well as emerging trends in the industries
For those considering a career as a Quality Professional not only I
encourage you to join as a member but you should also consider taking
courses and/or obtaining certification from ASQ in order to get
recognition for your expertise and qualifications.
We are always interested in your comments and feedback how your ASQ
section can serve you better so please do not hesitate to contact us.

belle journée nous avons eu pour le tournoi de golf du 10
juillet 2009 ! L’ambiance était festive et
après le golf, les discussions et échanges
allaient bon train.

Having ASQ certification gives you an edge in
the market
and can significantly increase your income.
ASQ Certification often leads to higher paying
employment.
The money invested in education and certification increases chances of
finding employment quickly in the down sizing environment we live in.
People who take the section sponsored refresher courses, and spend at
least twice as much time as spent in the classroom on self study, have
an 80%, or better, chance of passing the examination on the first
attempt.
Certified Quality Engineer Topics include:
